The client had a front garden where most of the lawn had died in our dry summers of 2018 and 2019. Remit was re-turf the lawn and introduce an interesting feature. I suggested a long curved 'prairie border'. I produced a simple design including a planting plan.
Phase 1 was to remove old grass, rotavate/dig existing soil, introduce humus matter (Tony's Tonic compost), dig in and then turf, leaving the shape of the border.
Phase 2. Dig in 3 tonnes of pea-grit to improve drainage and then put in plants.
Delighted client, happy landscaper!
